Owner & Head Coach
Kael Coster
I started martial arts as a kid after experiencing bullying and violence growing up. Back then, I was more likely to freeze than fight back.
Over the years, martial arts has taken me around Australia competing professionally in both the ring and cage, earning multiple black belts and title belts along the way. More importantly, it helped me navigate some of the toughest periods of my life and introduced me to incredible mentors, lifelong friends, and a strong sense of community.
What I love most is seeing people transform. Watching someone walk through the door shy, anxious, or lacking confidence, then seeing them stand taller, speak with confidence and develop resilience, discipline, self-control and self-belief.
At Tribe, we’re building more than martial artists - we are building a community. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned athlete, you’ll find a place here.
Owner & BJJ Coach
Ben Hill
Muay Thai found me as a teenager and gave me something I didn't know I was looking for — self confidence, and a way of seeing myself differently. It also made sense to me to do something that taught a real life-skill as a vehicle to improve health and fitness.
Over the years I returned to Muay Thai and moved through some short stints of Kyokushin and MMA before finding BJJ around 2015. Life got in the way plenty of times early on — new jobs, relocations, two kids — but I kept coming back.
I'm currently a brown belt training under Kael. What keeps me hooked is the depth of the art — the problem solving, the endless layers, and the way it quietly changes how you approach every hard thing in your life.
As co-owner, the thing I've invested in most is the culture. No egos, no cliques — just a community that genuinely supports each other. Culture like that doesn't happen by accident — it's built over time by every person who walks through the door, which is exactly why we call ourselves Tribe.

Being part of the Tribe community is something that I value not only as a coach and martial artist, but as a genuine person that can uplift and add value to any experience for those I surround myself with. Having a knowledgeable background in Kickboxing 6 years prior to starting at Tribe in 2023, I have learnt so much from the coaches and training partners in my time and that has created exponential growth that has positively impacted key areas of my life.
Stepping into this place, allows me to thrive and consciously engage with my community on a personal level. And that’s something that deeply fuels me.

I’ve been training at Tribe MMA since the start of 2022, what started as a way to lose weight and learn to protect myself quickly turned into a must have hobby for my physical and mental health.
Since I started I have competed in over 15 kickboxing / Muay Thai fights, 6 of them being at an amateur level.
From beginners to high level strikers, we really have a kind and tight-knit community that are there to help each other and get better one day at a time.
BJJ Coach
Liam Dickson
Liam is a BJJ purple belt under Kael, training since 2020. What started as an interest in self defence has quickly grown into a passion for Jiu-Jitsu.
Coaching gives me the opportunity to do what I love most; helping people grow and improve to become the best version of themselves. Whether it’s guiding a complete beginner through their first class or helping a more experienced student break through a plateau. I love the puzzle and problem solving BJJ present on a daily basis.

I’ve been training at Tribe for nearly 4 years and it’s been the biggest step forward in my life, the people here have continued to support and help shape who I’ve become and who I am becoming.
I’ve had 3 Muay Thai fights and 1 kickboxing fight and plan to continue stacking up fights while I help others in the gym bring more out in themselves and hopefully see them find a passion in this sport like I have.

Martial arts has been part of my life since I was around 6 years old. I’ve been training at Tribe for almost 4 years now and the community and support I’ve found through the gym is something I value highly.
I’ve taken up coaching with the aim of giving back to the gym while I continue to train for my first amateur fight. I hope to make Muay Thai feel fun and rewarding like I’ve always found it to be, while also encouraging hard work and discipline.

I started Taekwondo at 14 years old, where I first met Kael. I went on to compete in over 50 Taekwondo fights as a teenager, before joining Tribe where I have trained under Kael, on and off, since he started it in my early 20’s.
I’ce dabbled in the occasional Muay Thai, BJJ and Judo competition along the way.
I coach because I love watching beginners fo through the fire and come out the other side as capable fighters. There’s something special about seeing people discover what they’re truly capable of by doing something hard - the same journey I went through myself.

I’ve been involved in martial arts for over 40 years. During that time I’ve trained in Karate, Taekwondo and Muay Thai, competing in state, national and international levels, earning black belts in multiple disciplines, and spending time as both a competitor and coach. Martial arts has given me incredible experiences, lifelong friendships and lessons that extend far beyond the mats.
After returning to train with Kael and the team at Tribe, I began coaching junior classes. Seeing kids build confidence, develop new skills and achieve things they never thought possible is one of the most rewarding parts of coaching.
I love being part of a supportive community where people work hard, encourage each other and grow together. For me, martial arts has always been about personal growth, resilience and respect as much as it is about training.
